Why You Should Add Palo Santo To Your Practice

Palo Santos also known as Holy Wood is a natural wood incense from the Bursera graveolens tree that calls South America’s, Lambayeque home and has been used for many years for spiritual cleansing much like white sage. This fragrant wood is related to Myrrh, Frankincense and Copal.

Why Should You Use Palo Santo?

Palo Santo is great for cleansing the work space, bedroom, yoga space, really anywhere you may need a sense of calming or refreshment. Palo Santo is traditionally used by Shamans and Healers for it’s similarity to sage’s purification and healing attributes. Bringing clarity, calmness, aiding in warding off negative energies and promoting peace makes Palo Santo a great addition to any practice and/or space.

How Do You Use It?

Palo Santo comes in many forms, the most common is used in it’s pure natural state as wood. Simply light the wood stick and allow to burn for around 1 minute until blowing out the flame and placing in a fire proof bowl. Offer positive intentions into the atmosphere and enjoy it’s benefits.
Another great way to use this amazing tool is in the form of incense sticks. Luna Sundara’s hand rolled incense sticks are 100% natural by binding the Palo Santo wood with gum from various species of the Acacia tree. Simply light and enjoy for up to 90 minutes of burn time, this beautiful aroma will linger for hours on end.
Last but not least, Essential Oil! Who doesn’t love essential oils? One way to use this magickal essential oil  would be to add a few drops to a EO diffuser.
